Hip hop was built by young people who dared to express and explore their dreams, young men and women who would
not allow society to put boundaries on their capabilities. DJ K-Rock a native of Staten Island, New York was just fourteen when he began cuttin’, scratchin’, and stage performing. He started his
professional DJ career at the age seventeen, when he partnered with rapper MC Lyte in 1987. Nat Robinson signed MC Lyte along with Audio Two, Alliance, Soul Rock, Positive K and Michie Mee creating the First Priority Music Family soon after. K-Rock traveled the U.S. and abroad, since that time and has established himself as one of the premiere DJs in the nation. Like many black disc jockeys of his day, DJ K-Rock was very charismatic and played a community role beyond simply spreading the sounds of Hip Hop. With a radio spot, concerts, live appearances, videos and club performances; K-Rock continues to make his mark. With his smooth technique of blending and scratching, true turn table mastery, and polished stage performance, K-Rock is definitely a Pioneer in the hip hop business. He is not called Rocksmoove for nothing. However it does not end there. He has been in his lab, home of Rocksmoove Entertainment creating, composing, engineering and collaborating with artist of various styles in his gift. He has worked on several projects such as the music for Trey Songz and Tiny&Toya’s reality show. In 2011 he was a part of the Legends of Hip Hop Tour with MC Lyte, Salt-N-Pepper, Doug E. Fresh and many other Hip Hop legends. DJ K-Rock provides a variety of styles of music for any diverse audience. So be prepared for a little bit of soul, mixed with some R&B, a slice of Hip-Hop, some old school and even a taste of Gospel from RockSmoove Entertainment in the near future.
